Sacred Story’s Library of Inspiring Women’s Stories
Sister we are in this together. Our library contains encouraging stories from women who, like you, walk through chapters of questioning, grieving, loving, hoping, and surrendering. We pray you will pass on stories because hope is contagious. Our Teaching Moments offer perspective about living your story in light of God’s Word. We love to hear how you are impacted by what you read.

Finding the One
My journey with Christ reminds me of the trip every little girl dreams of taking. That special day when she walks down the aisle in a breathtaking white gown while the love of her life awaits her at the altar. My own personal trip to "the altar" has been just that – a...
A Prayer to Pursue a Life of Obedience
“When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same...
Dare to be Abraham
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8) I have recently been wrestling with what it means to be ‘called’ to something. We often hear in...
The Gift of Obedience
"Now at this time Mary arose and went in a hurry to the hill country, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit." Luke...
Enduring the Mundane
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Gal. 6:9 Wake up. Take a shower. Make breakfast. Drop kids at school. Go to work. Check to-do list. Answer emails. Respond to text messages. Unload dishwasher....
Purifying Pain
“For the battle is not yours, but God’s” 2 Chronicles 20:15b I thought I knew perseverance until I was forced to walk through a trial I could not avoid. After a long and bitter divorce, my new marriage marked the beginning of a 7-year custody battle. At the time I...
Through Endurance We Have Hope
"For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.” Romans 15:4, (NET), bold and italics mine. We know spiritual battles—especially long ones—can...
Enduring Hardships
All these were approved through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us. (Hebrews 11:39-40) Recently, there are many women I know who are struggling...
Giving UP or Giving OVER
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. . .” Hebrews 12:1-2 To say I am not a runner is an understatement. I do not aspire to run unless I am playing chase with my nephews or “running...
Pomegranate Pavlova – En Pointe!
Anna Pavlova was a famous Russian ballerina in the late 19th and early 20th century. Her frame was smaller than the typical ballerina, including her feet. Standing “en pointe” was difficult with such small, curved feet. To help curve the box shape of the shoe, she...
Are you really safe?
"The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid." Ps 119:6a Ebola. ISIS. Enterovirus. Random shootings. Cancer. Divorce. Miscarriage. Fill in the blank. What grips you with fear? If this list isn't enough, I'm sure there is something else you can think of that could create...
Staying Steady
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 I came home not long ago from teaching a bible study in Houston. It was one of those times when I really sensed the Spirit using me, and I could see women responding to Him. I remember driving...
