Sacred Story’s Library of Inspiring Women’s Stories

Sister we are in this together. Our library contains encouraging stories from women who, like you, walk through chapters of questioning, grieving, loving, hoping, and surrendering. We pray you will pass on stories because hope is contagious. Our Teaching Moments offer perspective about living your story in light of God’s Word. We love to hear how you are impacted by what you read.

Waiting Room

In my personal time with the Lord, I’ve been studying about waiting on God. I can think of a lot of circumstances for which we must wait: a change in career, a longed-for spouse or child, building a house, selling a house, emotional and physical healing, necessary...

Marriage: Are You Willing to Wait?

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;”  Isaiah 40:31 Have you been waiting a long time on God to fulfill His promises for your life?  The months have literally turned into years.  When you seek God about your situation, He can give you one of three...

Courageous Waiting

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” We are made of the dust of this world, yet God instructs us not to be of it. Did you know, that if our bodies were boiled down to the 15-16 chemical elements that can be found in the...

Picture Waiting

"but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Wait for Hope to Appear

“When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions. Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The ‘worst’ is never the worst.” Lamentations 3:28-30 (MSG) (italics and bold mine) I...

Waiting in Faith

“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” (Heb. 11:39-40) It is befitting that I am writing on the topic of...

Did anyone care?

Did anyone care?

Beth's Story: I can’t think of anything greater than knowing Christ and being known by Him. In my early Christian journey, I struggled with significance and importance. Due to repetitive rejection in my childhood and circumstances within my family, I felt pushed aside...

WAIT is a four-letter word

"Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength."  Isaiah 40:31 W-A-I-T is a four-letter word. That's how it adds up. I mean I want what I want. The traffic light to turn green. The checker to hurry up who is "oh so slowly" scanning. The editor to give an...

Got Fruit?

“…The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Gal. 5:22-23 I remember hearing a story several years ago about a monk who lived a solitary life devoted to prayer and service to the Lord. He had...

Pork and Prunes? Yes!

When I think of relationships full of wonder, surprise, and satisfaction, one of my very favorites lies on a plate: my fatty little friend, “Porky,” and his sophisticated sidekick, “Pruneaux.”  For those who didn’t catch that, I am referring to the sublime food...

A First-time Newlywed at 43: Thoughts on my First Year of Marriage

In his thought-provoking book, The Mystery of Marriage, Mike Mason compares our spouse to a great tree “growing up in the center of one’s living room.” Mason goes on to say how beautiful and unique the tree is – how utterly rooted and unmovable. Standing in the middle...

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these stories all true?

Yes, that’s the amazing thing about our library!

Do these stories come from time spent at your women’s retreats?

Sacred Story Retreats provide a proven framework to help a woman explain how faith in Jesus Christ impacts her life. Because we provide follow-up editing and help a woman finalize her story, many of the stories in our library are submitted from women who attended retreats.

Is there a way I can reach out to an author if I want to connect at a deeper level about her story?

Yes, we love to help women connect, so they know they are not alone. Usually, authors of stories are happy to talk with other women with questions. Please get in touch through the “Leave a Question or Prayer Request” option on this page.

Can I share an inspirational story without attending a Sacred Story retreat?

Yes, please get in touch with us at contact@sacredstoryministries.org
